Memminger Beetle Roadster 2.7
Memminger has been restoring VW Beetles since the mid-'90s. Now its building one of its own with the Memminger Beetle Roadster 2.7. Powered by a 2.7L air-cooled boxer engine (hence the name), it has 210 hp at its disposal, fed through a five-speed gearbox. The custom bodywork sits on a welded tubular steel frame which is visible from inside the car, where tartan-lined racing seats meet with a handful of gauges in a spartan, driving-focused layout. Other changes include disc brakes borrowed from the 911 and lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels. Still labeled a concept, the company is considering a production run limited to just 20 examples worldwide.
