Moog Minimoog Model D Synthesizer
Music changed forever in 1970. Moog released the Minimoog Model D, the first portable synthesizer and the blueprint for everything that followed. The original Model D ran from 1970 to 1982, with a limited reissue from 2016 to 2017 that stopped due to a shortage of parts. Now the Model D is back and improved with modifications that appeared on the 2016 reissue. The signal path and three-oscillator sound engine remain unchanged from the original, and every Model D is hand-assembled in Asheville, North Carolina. Modifications come in the form of a dedicated analog LFO with triangle and square shapes, a Fatar keybed, MIDI integration, and a mixer mod that allows for overdriving the Model D into a scream with the run of a knob. As timeless as the violin, the 2022 Model D is out now.
