Nawa Racer Motorcycle

Electric tech startup NAWA is bringing its new ultracapacitor tech to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas — in the form of an electric motorcycle. The Racer is a sleek, modern interpretation of the classic cafe racer wrapped around a hybrid drive system utilizing the aforementioned ultracapacitor and a traditional lithium-ion battery pack. NAWA sees this hybrid system as the way forward for electric vehicles — not just light-duty urban transportation — with the ultracapacitor providing faster charging, higher range, and more power over a battery alone. A 0.1 kWh ultracapacitor battery pack combined with a 9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides 93 miles of range and makes 100 horsepower, good for a three-second 0-60 time and a top speed of 100 MPH. NAWA says that in city driving, range can increase to over 180 miles thanks to superior regenerative braking. NAWA's system is fully scalable, with plans to apply the system to larger vehicles.
