Nissan is making sure Godzilla never dies with their new NISMO restoration program. If you're a lucky owner of a Skyline GT-R of any year or model, Nissan will restore it to the condition it left the factory in, no matter how long ago it sailed away from Japan. The process starts with assessing the car's condition, after which any damage — from rust, accident, abuse, etc — is fully repaired. Frame jigs will be used to determine any deformation in the unibody, and bodywork will be fully restored and painted in any color the owner chooses, as long as it was a factory-available color when the car was built. Each engine will receive a total teardown, inspection, and rebuild with any machining done or parts replaced as necessary. The interior will get the same treatment, with a twist — updates to modern tech will be performed according to the customer's tastes, making these 30-plus-year-old beasts even better than they were when new.
