Notorious B.I.G. Air Jordan XIII Sneakers
In 2017, Nike and the Christopher Wallace Foundation collaborated on a run of special edition Air Jordan XIII sneakers for the late rapper's 45th birthday. Those shoes were never released — until now. 23 pairs of the shoes, from sizes 7 to 13, will go up for auction February 3rd in New York City via Sotheby's. The shoes wear a muted black and red colorway, with a silhouette of Biggy in his iconic driver's cap on the tongue. The liner is a red and black flannel pattern with the lyrics "And if you don't know, now you know" and "it was all a dream" emblazoned on each side of the back of the tongue. In a nod to Jordan himself, "2023" is stitched into the shoe to mark the Jordan Year 2023 celebration. All proceeds will go benefit the Christopher Wallace Foundation to help educate inner-city youth.
