On Her Majesty's Secret Service 1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible
On Her Majesty's Secret Service might be the most unique Bond film in the franchise's history. 007 gets married, Australian actor George Lazenby only played the role once, and the film was more realistic and followed Ian Fleming's novel very closely. Also unique was Contessa Teresa "Tracy" di Vicenzo's Mercury Cougar XR-7. This is character Bond marries in the film, and now her 1969 Cougar is up for auction from Bonhams. The Mercury Cougar XR-7 was born as a more luxury-oriented GT cousin to the Mustang and received its own bodywork. The XR-7 here has spent the last several decades as a museum piece and show car, and comes with the ski rack, wooden skis, hood pins, and other details seen in the film.
