Porsche 911 GT3 S/C

The GT3 badge has never appeared on a convertible. Until now. The 911 GT3 S/C, which stands for Sport Cabriolet, tips the scales at just 3,300 lbs. A mere 37 lbs more than the coupe, thanks to carbon fiber body panels, magnesium wheels, and a magnesium roof frame borrowed from the 911 S/T. Under the hood sits the same 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six as the coupe, producing 502 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque with a 9,000-rpm redline. The only available transmission is a short-ratio six-speed manual. It hits 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and tops out at 194 mph. It is not a limited-run model, but a permanent fixture in the 911 range. In an era of turbos and dual-clutch automatics, it is a reminder of what sports cars used to feel like, a deliberate anachronism. Deliveries begin later this year.
