Porsche x Aime Leon Dore 1978 911SC Coupe
Keys, watch, wallet, vintage Porsche 911 — Porsche's venerable sports car has become a fashion icon as much as anything that can be worn. NYC fashion house Aime Leon Dore's second collaboration with Porsche is a 1978 911SC, subtly customized with a centerpiece interior. Founder Teddy Santis spent months researching and experimenting with colors and materials, and Porsche Classic assisted in bringing the 911 back to period-correct specs with sand gold paint, 16-inch Fuchs wheels, auxiliary lights, and a custom "ALD 911SC" badge that mimics the classic rallying and club badges collected by Porsche owners. Inside is where Santis' work really shines, vintage Persian rugs for the lower door panels and floor mats and a perforated buffalo buff suede headliner. The seats were recovered in boucle outers with leather inners, along with wooden beads on the driver's seat. The 911 will be on display at Aimé Leon Dore's flagship store in Soho May 21 and 23.
