Rabbit Hole Mizunara Founder's Collection Bourbon
Found on the northernmost island of Japan and taking 200 to 500 years to reach maturity, Mizunara Oaks produce wood that is more porous and delicate than its European and American cousins. It therefore takes the most skilled craftspeople to turn it into whiskey barrels, some of which were used to finish Rabbit Hole Mizunara Founder's Collection Bourbon. For this limited release, Rabbit Hole founder Kaveh Zamanian hand-picked 15-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey barrels from his personal collection and transferred them to Mizunara casks where they spent a further 11 months. The resulting liquid is a dark amber, with complex flavors of tobacco, custard, cinnamon, dark cherry, and a chocolate finish. Cask strength at 103.8 proof, it's limited to 2,200 individually-numbered bottles.
