In bourbon terms, the Angels' Share refers to the evaporation that occurs while the spirit ages inside the barrel. Old Forester's latest addition to its 117 Series comes from a group of barrels that saw significant volume loss during aging, giving this High Angels' Share release a rich, complex flavor profile. Following the bold, spicy nose is a main course of molasses and dessert flavors, finishing with notes of spice, pepper, and coffee. Given the concentrated flavors, it's recommended to air the bourbon out — or add water or an ice cube — to help release its potential. It arrives at 55% ABV in smaller 375ml bottles and is available at the brand's Louisville distillery.
