As the name suggests, Eagle Rare 25 spent 25 years in the barrel, and is the first release from the distillery's Warehouse P, an experimental structure purpose-built to see if they could extend the aging process of bourbons and whiskeys without losing quality. The result is a remarkably smooth yet complex spirit with balancing flavors of vanilla and butterscotch with a spicy finish. It arrives in a hand-blown crystal decanter encased in a hand-hammered sterling silver wing; a fitting tribute to the 101-proof bourbon's silver anniversary in the barrel from which it came. This original 1955 photograph from United Press International is from near the peak of her popularity and captures the sex symbol showing off her assets while bowling (in high heels, no less).
