Shinogi 15-25 Knife Case

Matt Abergel, the chef behind Hong Kong's Michelin-starred Yardbird, spent ten years developing his dream knife case. From 2015 to 2025, he refined and prototyped the design, and gives a nod to that effort in naming the case 15-25. Built from ABS with an internal aluminum frame, it runs roughly 22 inches long and weighs just under 7 lbs. Nine accordion dividers compress to fit anything from a 90mm petty to a full yanagiba across 8 to 10 blades. A bamboo splint running across the interior anchors twelve elastic nylon cords for peelers, scissors, and microplanes, while two silicone mats line the floor. Closures include a pair of mild steel latch locks and four Fidlock magnetic snap pulls, and it comes with a woven nylon paracord handle and a removable shoulder strap. A decade to design a knife case is either obsession or precision; the name makes it both.
