Siena Monastery

Built in 730, the Siena Monastery is the oldest in Tuscany. It was originally donated to the Cassinesi Benedictines by Warnifredo to house monks and served as a monastery until 1786. During that time, it also served as a camp for the troops of Charles of Anjou during the sack of Siena in 1270 and for Marshal Pietro Strozzi in 1553. The estate later became a vacation home and after, a retirement home. Inside the brick Renaissance facade, its interior spans 66,000 square feet and boasts dramatic archways and ornate moldings, while nearly every room is decorated with frescos from the late 16th century on the walls and ceilings. The sale of this property presents a unique opportunity to own a piece of Italy's rich history.
