Skyryse One Helicopter
Helicopters are complex. Unlike fixed-wing aircraft, automation isn't as prevalent in the rotary wing space — and Skyryse wants to change that. Founded in 2016, Skyryse has developed automated control systems for existing helicopters. The One is the first craft designed around Skyryse's SkyOS system, simplifying controls and increasing safety. The One eliminates the cyclic stick, collective lever, throttle and anti-torque pedals, with the pilot controlling flight through a single stick. Instruments and things like engine start, an automated takeoff sequence, and hovering are controlled by swiping a centrally-mounted touchscreen. SkyOS continuously analyzes pilot input, environmental conditions, aircraft status, and flight parameters to keep the One inside the flight envelope, and in the event of a failure, can automatically autorotate, glide, flare, and land the craft. Skyryse is currently taking a $2,500 deposit to reserve a One.
