The Amazing Spider-Man #1 Pedigree Grade

Of all Stan Lee's creations, Spider-Man might be his most perfect. First appearing in Amazing Fantasy #15 in 1962, Spider-Man would make his solo debut in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 in March 1963 and go on to become an anchor character for Marvel. Original copies of The Amazing Spider-Man #1 aren't terribly rare, but this one is: A Curator Pedigree CGC 9.8 grade copy, one of two known to exist. The Curator Pedigree name stems from a collection of Silver Age comics amassed by a collector who worked as a curator of a museum. The books were stored in tightly wrapped bricks in a museum vault, and among the high-grade copies are a CGC 9.8 X-Men #1. This landmark comic is up for auction via Heritage Auctions.
