The Glenturret x James Turrell Eight Decades Scotch Whisky
Artist James Turrell is known for his "skyspaces" that manipulate light and the viewer's view of the world via window-like openings. To celebrate his 80th birthday, he's teamed with French glassmaker Lalique and Scotland's oldest working distillery The Glenturret on a limited-edition scotch housed in a Turrell-designed decanter. The bottle starts with a square base that widens up to rounded corners, leading to a violet crystal neck and Egypt-inspired blue pyramidal stopper, the latter an ode to the artist's love of the ancient culture's ceremonial use of light in its monuments. The whisky is a blend of eight different casks and is limited to 80 bottles, which arrive in a bespoke display case with its own Turrell-like light windows.
