ThirtyC Star Destroyer Gigayacht
When the original Star Wars opened in 1977, that Star Destroyer filling the entire screen in the opening shot of A New Hope became one of cinema's most iconic reveals. British design studio ThirtyC has spent a decade injecting the franchise into superyacht design for May the 4th, and this year's concept is a 492-foot gigayacht built around the Empire's iconic wedge silhouette. Sharp angular lines run from bow to stern, and in place of the usual steel, aluminum, or GRP, glass covers much of the exterior, flooding the interior with light while maintaining that menacing, futuristic profile. A helipad sits forward, the captain's quarters are positioned high in the superstructure on the bridge deck, and a hidden hangar aft accommodates tenders and jet skis for a quick escape. Interior details remain, per ThirtyC, "classified by the Imperial Senate."
