Tony Hawk's First 900 Skateboard

On June 27, 1999, at the X Games in San Francisco, Tony Hawk landed skateboarding's documented "900" — a trick that involved two and a half spins in the air. He did so on this board. The Birdhouse Falcon 2 is outfitted with Fury brand trucks and unmarked wheels, is marked "Tony Hawk" at the top, and shows a level of wear that speaks to the thousands of times Hawk fell trying to land the trick. It will be sold by Julien's Auctions on September 23, alongside the pads, helmet, and sneakers Hawk wore during the event. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will benefit The Skatepark Project, a foundation Hawk started to help communities build skateparks in underserved areas.
