Toyota RAV4 Rally Car Concept
Toyota is no stranger to rally racing. From 1992 to 1994, Toyota won three WRC championships with the Celica GT4 and was on track to win a fourth, when the discovery of a cheat led to their expulsion from the 1995 championship and paved the way for the great Subaru v Mitsubishi rivalry of the mid-to-late-'90s. But that was then, the Celica hasn't been made since 2006, and this RAV4 concept takes Toyota's rallying mantle into the future. Designer Khyzyl Saleem originally imagined the RAV4 as a prerunner, but decided to take it rallying instead. The stripped-down crossover sports a composite front clip, roll cage, LED exterior lighting, and knobby offroad tires. While it's no Celica GT-Four homologation model, it makes you wonder how far a production RAV4 could be taken with the right aftermarket parts.
