Toyota Turbo Trail Cruiser Concept
The boxy, classic Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 was first released in 1981 and reset the market for what a multi-person SUV could be. For the 2025 SEMA Show, they've given it a modern-day overhaul with the Turbo Trail Cruiser. It thankfully maintains its classic looks, but underneath is an i-FORCE 3.4L twin-turbocharged V6 found in the current Tundra, giving it 389 horsepower. To maintain the original's structural integrity, Toyota's Motorsports Garage team fashioned new motor mounts, machined an adapter plate to mate the new engine to the FJ60's factory 5-speed transmission, among other new components. A 1.5-inch lift, 35-inch tires, and front shackle reversal give the period-correct colors and graphics a slight forward push, while the interior was left almost entirely stock, save for a modern JBL stereo system.
