Now that Uncrate is nearing its 10th anniversary, we decided it was finally time to start doing a print magazine. We know this sounds backwards in a world of apps and iPads, but we wanted something you can hold in your own two hands. Something that can live in your bag or on your coffee table. Something that lets you escape that little electronic distraction machine in your pocket (or on your wrist). So we made Uncrate Magazine. This seasonal magazine will arrive twice a year (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter), and will show you our favorite gear, gadgets, vices, and cars for that particular time of year, as well as some amazing photographs from our travels and testings.

For our inaugural edition (what we're calling our beta issue), we visited Iceland, Colorado, Alaska, and a few other locations, and tested hundreds of cold weather products. You'll find beautiful photography of both the gear and the destinations, all shot by us. Everyone you see in the magazine is an Uncrate staff member — no lame models or stand-ins. You'll get exactly 212 pages of wintery Uncrate goodness. And because we did a book-style cover and used only the best paper — 100 lb Arbor Plus to be exact — this thing is a monster. You'll want to keep it forever — or at least until the next issue comes out this spring.
