Valkyrie Porsche 356 Antarctic Race Car

Valkyrie Racing founder Renee Brinkerhoff is finishing a 20,000-mile trip across all seven continents by driving across Antarctica — in a vintage Porsche 356. Brinkerhoff's journey started in 2017, driving the 356 across 16,000-foot high mountains, through jungles and deserts, and now, the bottom of the Earth. The 356 will be specially modified with treads on the rear wheels and skis on the front, with design and fabrication help from Lotus senior chassis design engineer Kieron Bradley. The modifications can be swapped out for studded ice tires without needing to be realigned. Brinkerhoff will make her Antarctic attempt in December 2022.
