Born in 1949, Blaze Foley lived the outlaw country life that would inspire a whole host of successful musicians — something Blaze himself never found. One of his closest friends was Townes Van Zandt, and the two of them couldn't be more alike musically or philosophically, which should tell you something about Blaze. Directed by Ethan Hawke, Blaze looks at three important stages of his life: His love affair with Sybil Rosen, his last night on Earth, and the effect his music has had since his untimely death. The film opens in Blaze's adopted hometown of Austin, Texas, on August 17, 2018.
