The Slenderman has sparked major controversy, leading a group of Wisconsin teens to stab a classmate. It's already been the topic of the 2016 documentary Beware The Slenderman and now the creepypasta meme is getting its own feature film. Directed by Sylvain White, the trailer is full of horrifying events — including a self-inflicted scalpel wound — while following four girls who set out to debunk the urban legend. Slender Man is slated for release May 18, 2018.
Indigofera and the dye made from it has a long history in Japan, dating back to the 1600s. Used not just for color, it was worn under the armor of samurai for its natural stiffness and antibacterial properties. It even found its way into firefighter clothing, as indigo can be flame retardant up to 1500 degrees. In Tokushima, Japan, only five farmers still grow the labor-intensive plant renowned for its beautiful shades of blue.
