If you do anything for 42 years, you're going to have some ups and downs. Over the 42 seasons of Saturday Night Live, the cast, crew, and writers have brought us skits that became part of the cultural lexicon — and a few seasons where the show probably should have been canceled. But there are a few key parts to making a good skit and Karsten Runquist has identified three of them that go a long way toward making us laugh.
