Kubrick And Spielberg Side-By-Side

If Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence looks like a Kubrick knockoff, it's actually because the latter passed off his final project to the Jaws director before his death in 1999. The film is so influenced by the style of Stanley Kubrick, it almost plays out as an ode the late directing giant. In this video essay, Candice Drouet edits together scenes from the film and compares them side-by-side to 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, and The Shining to show the similarities between the films of the two legends.
