Whistlepig Rye Whiskey The Boss Hog

Whistlepig makes some of the best rye whiskey known to man, and occasionally they create something that is truly exceptional, which becomes part of their The Boss Hog series. The latest in this collection is the first American Whiskey finished using Japanese Umeshu in collaboration with Kitaya brewery on Japan's Kyushu island. The rye is sixteen-years-old and was created using koji fermentation, a technique introduced to the American Whiskey in the late 1800s. It's named for the chemist who pioneered it, known as The Samurai Scientist.
