Wolves Lot One Single Malt Whiskey
Typically distilled from bottle-ready beer, Wolves Whiskey is always distinctive. Lot One from its new Malted Barley Series is no exception. Made using a more traditional mashbill of two-row pale malted barley and fermented with California Ale yeast, it was distilled in 2015 using a pot still, with Master Distiller Marko Karakasevic sleeping in four-hour shifts so he could make each cut himself. Aged in American oak charred to six different levels, the resulting liquid boasts a diverse, complex flavor profile including maple syrup, candied orange, currant, vanilla, and honey. Only 12 barrels were produced, with the first 11 blended together and bottled at 110 proof; the 12th was selected for a single-barrel release limited to 228 bottles at 125 proof. Arriving April 6th.
