Yamaha's range-topping naked bike, the MT-10 SP, is getting upgrades for 2022. Taking lessons learned on the racetrack with the YZF-R1, the MT-10 is powered by a 998cc inline-four making 164 horsepower at 11,500 RPM and 83 lb-ft of torque at 9,000. Yamaha fine-tuned the intake and exhaust to maximize the aural experience, even adding speakers on either side of the tank that blast the mechanical soundtrack back at the rider. The riding position has been lowered for a more connected feel to the machinery, with a more upright stance compared to the superbike crouch. The MT-10 features a full suite of electronic aids, including a six-axis inertial measurement unit and sensors for angular velocity and acceleration that control wheelie suppression and traction control. The MT-10 SP will arrive Spring 2022.
