1714 Stradivarius da Vinci Violin
Tarisio Auctions is selling a rare Stradivarius violin known as the Da Vinci, Ex-Seidel. The piece was crafted in 1714 during the Golden Period for Italian luthier Antonio Stradivari and is named after its previous owner Toscha Seidel. The Russian violinist owned the instrument for 40 years and was featured in several Hollywood films, including The Wizard of Oz. In excellent condition, the 308-year-old violin is still playable, making it rare and invaluable. It's slated for auction on June 9, 2022, following showings in New York, London, Berlin, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.
