1962 Excalibur RS Roadster

Brooks Stevens was an influential designer in the 1950s and '60s. He designed the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. He also designed the Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk. It was off that design that he based the 1962 Excalibur RS Roadster. Completed in the '90s by his friend Robert Shaw, it combines '60s streamlined design with semi-modern technology. Powered by a 5.7L GM V8 crate engine with Edelbrock fuel injection mated to a GM 700R4 automatic transmission, it's a live contender in vintage racers, and eligible for concours runs if the current owner wants to race instead of preserve it. The interior is similarly unique, with aluminum panels, physical switches, and red, white, and blue upholstery.
