1966 Shelby GT350 Prototype 001

This is about as rare and historic as it gets for American cars — the prototype for the 1966 Mustang. Shelby had started a revolution the year before with his bare-bones, racing-focused take on Ford's pony car. Wanting something better suited to daily driving, Shelby included things like a back seat, and something no Mustang ever had — a vinyl top. The GT350 prototype rolls across the block at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in January.
