1979 Honda CR125R Elsinore Dirt Bike
In 1973, Honda named its first two-stroke motocross bike the Elsinore after the motorcycle race at Lake Elsinore, California, which Steve McQueen once entered under a made-up name. This 1979 CR125R Elsinore reportedly remained in the steel and wood crate it was originally delivered in. Plastic still wraps the exhaust and swingarm, smaller parts are packed separately beside the frame, and the American Honda cardboard box that covered the crate, stamped Made in Japan, is part of the sale. Under the packing is a red 123cc two-stroke motocrosser with a six-speed gearbox and a tall 23-inch front wheel. It has no title, is offered for off-road use only, and is now up for auction.
