1992 Land Rover Discovery Camel Trophy SUV
From 1980 to 2000, the Camel Trophy put Land Rover's legendary toughness on display in some of the most unforgiving terrain across the world. The Camel Trophy was held in Guyana in 1992, the year that this specially-built Discovery was driven over the 1,000-mile course by the American team. A roll cage, winches, underbody protection and a host of other heavy-duty features were installed in the trucks, and they only ran the Trophy once. They were stripped down and sold after they returned, but this Discovery still has all its original equipment and sits just as it was when left Guyana. While it's only covered 18,500 miles, those first 1,000 were brutal, and the current owner notes a few issues in the description.
