1997 Land Rover Discovery Camel Trophy SUV
One of the best-preserved Camel Trophy Discovery SUVs is for sale. This exceptional SUV took part in the 1997 Camel Trophy event in Mongolia, piloted by Spaniards Joan Oliva and Ignacio Roviralta. The team departed from Ulaanbaatar, covering over 1,000 miles to the ancient capital of Kharakorum. While an Austrian team took the overall win, this Discovery made it though remarkably unscathed. After the event, the truck was put in storage for 10 years, changing hands twice before being purchased by its current owner in 2020. The Sandglow paint and the majority of the decals are original, and the SUV retains its kayak, paddles, Terratrip, GPS, map reader, and radio fitted for the event. The current owner added new tires and dampers and thorough service by Land Rover. With just over 20,000 miles on the odometer, this is a remarkable example of a Camel Trophy Discovery.
