2013 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe
Six Shelby Cobra Daytonas were made between 1964 and 1965 with one goal — beating Ferrari in international sports car competition. The Daytona took home class wins at Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona, and took home the FIA International Championship for GT Manufacturers in 1965. Shelby American made a limited run of Daytonas using the original CSX9000 serial numbers, and this example was completed in 2013. While not a continuation in the strictest sense, this car holds very true to the original. An improved tube frame chassis cradles a Rousch-built Ford 427 V8, making around 550 horsepower and nearly 600 lb-ft of torque. This Daytona also includes unthinkable comforts like power windows and air conditioning — something you'd never find on the originals. With under a thousand miles on the clock, this is a vintage classic with modern conveniences.
