The Chevrolet Blazer is back — but this time it's dropping its full-size frame for a crossover SUV body. The two row, five-passenger Blazer slots in at the mid-size crossover category and will have two trim levels at launch, the RS and Premium. The RS gets sporty blacked-out trim, while the more upscale Premium has chrome pieces to differentiate itself. Engine choices are a 2.5L inline four rated at 193 horsepower or a 305 horsepower V6, both of which come with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The interior is thoroughly modern, with a large touchscreen infotainment display and the requisite smartphone and internet connectivity. The Blazer will be available in early 2019, with pricing and more details as the SUV gets closer to launch.
