2023 Honda Civic Type R

The new Honda Civic Type R launches as a 2023 model in late 2022, and it's the most powerful Civic ever in the type's 50-year history. While fans of the previous Type R's anime styling might be disappointed in the new car's much more mild styling, the 2-liter turbocharged inline-four bests the 305 horsepower of the outgoing Type R, beating the front-wheel-drive production record at Honda's legendary Suzuka track. Honda didn't provide exact numbers, but expect the improvement to be substantial. The new Type R gets flared fenders, a new mesh grille, front fascia, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler. A six-speed manual is the only transmission offered, and new driving modes and integrated datalogger are good news for autocrossers and track day enthusiasts. Exterior colors are the Type R-exclusive Historic Championship White, Rallye Red, Boost Blue, Crystal Black Pearl and Sonic Grey Pearl.
