No longer will the ability to lie flat and get some in-air sleep be the domain of upper-class passengers. Air New Zealand's Economy Skynest promises to let even budget-conscious travelers stretch out. The result of three years of development, the system has a total of six pods, with three in each stack. Each pod will include a full-size pillow, sheets and blanket, earplugs, privacy curtains, and lighting designed for sleep. Air New Zealand operates some of the world's longest flights — including its upcoming 17-hour, 40-minute route from Auckland to NYC — and as such the Skynest is just the latest attempt to make these flights more comfortable, following in the footsteps of their Economy Skycouch.
