Al Faya Lodge and Spa

Originally a 1960s clinic and grocery store, the Al Faya Lodge and Spa is now an ultra-luxe retreat in the Sharjah desert. The hotel sits at the foot of Mount Alvaah in the United Arab Emirates. Its interior has been transformed into five contemporary rooms lined in rich teak paneling. Each one has its own skylight for a private stargazing session right before bed. The main building also houses the dining area, reception room, library, and roof terrace. Over at the spa, guest can partake in salt spa experiences or lounge around the saltwater pool. Protected by CorTen steel gates, the rusty screens filter in sunlight when closed but open up to reveal the surrounding crimson landscape.
