Aston Martin Vanquish Vision Concept
For most of the 20th century, Aston Martin made its name as a maker of luxurious grand touring automobiles. In the second decade of the 21st century, they've moved into making some of the highest-performing cars ever made, like 2015's track-only Vulcan and the upcoming street-legal Valkyrie. Now Aston Martin plans to take the fight directly to Italian rivals Ferrari and Lamborghini and fellow countrymen McLaren with the Vanquish Vision, Aston's thinly-veiled mid-engine concept car. Taking cues from the Valkyrie, the Vanquish Vision is planned to be a volume model, rather than a limited-production hypercar. The Vanquish Vision packs an in-house designed twin-turbo V6 and electric motor — similar to partner Red Bull Racing's engine setup under current F1 rules. An aluminum chassis and aerodynamics designed with F1 and Red Bull legend Adrian Newey usher in a new era for the classic British automaker. The car is slated for a 2021 launch.
