Calder Artist's Proof BMW Art Car

Artist Alexander Calder is known for his sculpture and kinetic mobiles that embrace motion, making him the perfect choice to paint the first BMW Art Car in 1975. Calder passed away in 1976, without getting to sample the 3.0 CSL that wore his design. Now, BMW Classic has granted Calder's wish with the 3.0 CSL Artist's Proof, identical to Calder's original. Built from an original 3.0 CSL, the car wears the same VIN number as the first Art Car, with the suffix "/AP". The car is powered by the same 480 horsepower inline-six and is fully drivable, although the car will spend its life mainly on display.
