Ed Concept Z Electric Motorcycle

Electric motors are a perfect match for flat track motorcycle racing. The instant torque makes breaking into a slide easy, and sliding is what flat tracking is all about. This is what laid the groundwork for the Concept Z, hand-built by Toby Roberts of Australia's Ed Motorcycles. The Concept Z uses a Zero 75-7R PMAC motor, capable of up to 625 lb-ft of torque at the axle, all available at the flick of the wrist. The frame was designed using CAD before being welded by Roberts, with the Chromoly frame tubes and stainless battery box working together as stressed chassis members. A CR85 monoshock and Yamaha R6 fork are used, with 19-inch Excel wire wheels shod in Mitas rubber provide the grip front and rear. A classic flat track rear tail and number plate with offset LED lights complete the package, with the electrics stored under the tank cover.
