Fering is a new company based in the UK, but its team of engineers have decades of experience. From the McLaren F1 to the Ferrari SF90, the team is well-versed in supercars, making the Fering's first product, the Pioneer SUV, a total departure. The Pioneer uses a welded, bolted, and bonded aluminum tube chassis, powered two electric motors on each axle. Two lithium titanium oxide battery banks provide the charge to the motors, giving the Pioneer around 50 miles of pure electric range. The trick comes in the three-cylinder diesel from a Smart microcar that acts as a generator to charge the batteries. This combo gives the Pioneer an incredible 4,350-mile range when fitted with a large-capacity fuel tank. Add to that chassis specs that rival purpose-built buggies built for the Baja 1000 and Dakar rally, and the Pioneer is leap forward for off-roading.
