Ferrari's sublime Portofino grand tourer is getting a slew of upgrades in the form of the Portofino M, unveiled in Ferrari's first online-only event for a new model. First among the new additions is an increase of 20 horsepower from the 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, now making 612 horses and driving the rear wheels through a new eight-speed rear-mounted transaxle. The electronics have been reprogrammed to deliver all 561 lb-ft of torque in only seventh and eighth gears, making for smoother power delivery, better low-speed drivability, and improved fuel economy. The exterior receives subtle changes in the front air vents and rear diffuser and a new Race mode has been added to the steering wheel-mounted selector. The Portofino M will arrive in late Spring of 2021.
