HiPhi A Electric Hypercar

Shanghai-based electric carmaker HiPhi will be bringing a concept electric hypercar to the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show. The four-door sportback A has wicked futro-brutalist design elements, giving it a very cyberpunk look: straight lines, a low profile, and lots of intakes. Based on HiPhi's Z sedan, the A will use parts from fellow Chinese brand WESAIL's existing Apollo electric hypercar project, with HiPhi providing the battery and motor. The 800v platform is expected to make 1,287 horsepower via three motors, with a 0-60 time of just over two seconds and a top speed of 186 MPH. The A will use a carbon fiber rotor design in those motors that use magnetic cylinder coil cooling technology, allowing them to spin up to 22,000 RPMs. Driving dynamics will benefit from rear-wheel active steering and a near 50:50 weight distribution, with electric tricks like torque vectoring, traction control, and body control standard. HiPhi aims to have the A in production by Q1 2025.
