Hublot x Jeff Koons Classic Fusion Balloon Dog Watch
Jeff Koons built his reputation on mirror-polished stainless steel sculptures that make cheap party balloons look monumental, and Hublot translated that aesthetic to its Classic Fusion collaboration watch case. Rather than printing Koons's imagery onto a dial, Hublot re-engineered the case itself, reshaping its normally flat, angular profile into convex lines and soft, domed surfaces that genuinely look inflated. The crown is shaped like a balloon's inflation valve in rubber-molded aluminum, a flexible decorative balloon tail extends from the case at 10:30, and the seconds hand carries a small Balloon Dog silhouette rendered in bas-relief as its counterweight. Even the oscillating weight inside adopts the same rounded, fuller shape as the rest of the design. Limited to 200 pieces per colorway across Silver, Blue, and Red, the 42mm Classic Fusion Balloon Dog is joined in the wider collaboration by the MP-14 Origin, a considerably more expensive Exceptional Timepiece built around the same creative partnership.
