Hyundai IONIQ 5 N EV

The car is dead. 25 years ago, guests were forcing smiles to cover their disappointment when Bob Barker revealed that the new car was a Hyundai Elantra. Now, Hyundai will gladly sell you an electric SUV that storms from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and can carve up a racetrack thanks to all-wheel-drive and an army of sensors and a few hundred thousand lines of code. The biggest question now is: What badge do you want on the front so people know how much you spent? If making sure everyone knows the size of your purse isn't important, the IONIQ 5 N Hyundai debuted at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed might be for you. The electric SUV mounts a direct challenge to the likes of Tesla's Y and home state rivals Kia's EV6 GT, producing 641 horsepower from its electric dual motors. Hyundai aimed for a rally feel to the IONIQ 5 N, with its torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive and additional chassis reinforcements versus the base IONIQ. The car has never been better — or meant less.
