Jony Ive & Marc Newson Leica Prototype Camera

As part of the 2013 (Product) RED charity auction, former Apple design chief Jony Ive and Marc Newson teamed up on a special one-off Leica. Dubbed the (RED) Leica Camera, it sold for $1.8 million. What you see here is one of the final prototypes for that camera. Present are the curved edges and fine engraving details that the pair are known for, seen here in polished aluminum with an aluminum Apo-Summicron 2/50 mm ASPH. lens — not far from the final form, but lacking finish. It will be sold as part of the 38th Leitz Photographica Auction on June 12 in Vienna.

Nike Alphafly 3 Road Racing Shoes

Running 26.2 miles is a lot different than tackling your local charity 5K. To accommodate the needs of marathon runners, Nike created the Alphafly line, now in its third generation. It employs two types of Zoom cushioning — a high-stack ZoomX foam midsole that encourages a smooth transition and Air Zoom units in the forefoot for an energy return boost. A wide, full-length carbon fiber Flyplate improves forward propulsion, and the breathable Atomknit 3.0 upper is paired with a lacing system designed with racer input to enhance comfort.
