Better known as the maker of the most-produced assault rifle of all time, the AK-47, Kalashnikov is expanding their product portfolio in a surprising direction — electric motorcycles. The UM-1 is the second motorcycle and first electric adventure bike from Kalashnikov made to live up to the AK-47's legendary reliability in an urban setting. Specifications are scarce, but Kalashnikov is aiming for 93 miles of range and a top speed of about 62 MPH. That isn't sportbike territory, but for reliable, emissions-free urban transportation, it's a good start to the company's entry into the electric bike market.
